Creating an Email Account in cPanel
To establish an email account within cPanel, adhere to the following procedure:
1. Log in to your cPanel account.
2. Access the Email Accounts tool:
- If you are utilizing the Jupiter theme, navigate to the Tools section on the Tools page, then click on Email Accounts.
- For users of the Paper Lantern theme, on the cPanel home page, locate the EMAIL section and click on Email Accounts.
3. Click on the Create button.
4. Choose the desired domain from the Domain menu where you intend to create the email account. If your desired domain doesn't appear, verify your account's domain configuration by clicking on Manage Subdomains or Manage Aliases. Note that the domain menu won't show if there is only one domain in your account.
5. In the Username text box, input the new email address. Please note that "cpanel" cannot be used as an account name for creating an email account.
6. Select one of the following password options:
- Opt for Set password now and input your preferred password in the Password text box.
- Alternatively, you can click Generate, and cPanel will generate a secure, random password for you.
- Or choose Send login link to an alternate email address, and cPanel will dispatch a message with login details to the designated email address.
7. Click on Edit Settings next to Optional Settings.
8. In the Storage Space section, you can either specify a custom mailbox quota storage size or select Unlimited.
9. To enable the automatic creation of folders for plus addressing (also known as subaddressing), tick the Automatically Create Folders option. This feature allows users to organize incoming mail using the plus sign (+). For additional details, visit https://blog.cpanel.com/plus-addressing-in-cpanel.
10. To send a welcome email containing instructions for configuring a mail client to the account, mark the Send a welcome email with instructions to set up a mail client checkbox. If you selected an alternate email address in step 5, cPanel will send the instructions there. Alternatively, users can access the welcome message through Webmail.
11. Choose either Stay on this page after I click Create if you wish to create another email account immediately after this one or click Create to create the account and return to the Email Accounts page.
